More work on the monkey head
I think I'm really starting to get the hang of this:I rather quickly added the ear, detailed it, tweaked the nose, added the eyes, and filled in the mouth.

What program is this and is it, dare I say, free? I have used Hash before and that was nice. I made a short cartoon for a friends wedding with the program.
This was done in Lightwave for Mac OS X, which will run you about $800 new, $500 if you already own some other 3D software (via a competitive upgrade), and about $200 if you can purchase on an academic discount.
I am using Lightwave primarily because it has a Shockwave3D exporter. If you're not looking to do that, you have more options open to you. You might look into using Wings 3D, which I believe is free and allows this style of modeling.

Hope this helps!
