The TERRORIDE Mural
Some guy has put up a small set of photos, apparently about an excursion to Lagoon park in Farmington, Utah, to get a good photo of the Terroride dark ride entrance mural. The Terroride was one of my happy childhood memories that fueled my interest in dark rides, immersive environments, and the horror genre, and the mural, in particular, was of interest to me as a kid. It was just so freaky weird, with its gorrila-man taunting a dragon, the tightly-wrapped-up skeleton looking on laughing, the unusually happy-looking singing man, and the octopus-out-of-water glaring at you. It's so surreal, and yet, oddly, sets the stage really well for the experiences inside.

That ride scared the hell out of me when I was about 10 and fueled my lifelong interets in European Horror films of the 60' and 70's. I was so shocked especially by the nude guy going down a rack towards a buzzsaw, and the spder. I would like to learn more about this ride and what could have possessed it's creaters.....
but there are not many stories on the internet.
Yes, unfortunately, there are no good resources anywhere that I can find on Terroride, or Dracula's Castle, the other dark ride at Lagoon, for that matter.
If you're interested in dark rides, though, be sure to check out Laff in the Dark and the Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts sites. Both contain fascinating articles and photos of many dark rides similar to Terroride.
